“Who the fuck is this guy and why is he impressing my girlfriend with an extensive knowledge of post-rock”
These were my first thoughts about you Luke.
This swiftly became “Who the fuck is this guy and wow he impressing me with an extensive knowledge of post-rock”
You were (still are, but this is a memory so I’m using past tense, shut up) charming, cool and well dressed in that slight hipster sense such that I had no idea how you had became Alex’s friend.
Turns out it’s because there’s a huge, huge nerd hiding just behind the surface.
But while that may have been the common link that initially got you into the friend group, the reasons that you’re still a part of it go well beyond video games and music taste.
You are one of the most kind hearted and genuine people I have ever met, it really seems that there is no end to what you would do for a friend in need. Even simple “what ups” when you’ve picked up that I’m not feeling great reveal how much you care about your friends.
You’ve gone through multiple hardships that even one of would break most other people. And you’re amazing for it, not because you didn’t let them affect you, but because they did and you came back from it, showing how strong you really are.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’re fucking awesome and you should be proud of who you are and how far you’ve come.
Happy Birthday Luke.
